Project STAMP and Boston Urban Fellows are NSF-funded programs that partners graduate and undergraduate fellows in biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, and physics with teachers in K-12 classrooms in Boston, Quincy, Chelsea, and Newton. The fellows collaborate with their partner teachers on ways to enhance the content of the curriculum by developing new modules, designing new activities, providing demos, assisting with labs, and helping students with science fair projects.
Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) Residence Program, is Boston University’s unique living experience for freshmen who intend to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
Graduate Women in Science and Engineering (GWISE) at Boston University strives to create a community to support and promote women in science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Through professional development seminars and workshops, social events, mentoring, and outreach, GWISE fosters interaction across disciplines at Boston University and connects graduate students to postdocs, faculty, and broader networks in Boston and beyond.
Science Bowl was started by the Department of Energy (DOE) in 1991 to encourage America’s best and brightest High School students to explore the fields of science and engineering. Since its inception, more than 100,000 high school science and mathematics students – and their teachers – have participated. The Science Bowl is a lock-out round robin competition. Teams are quizzed on biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, earth science, general science and mathematics. Many participating students have gone on to careers in scientific fields.
LENS is a week long summer program for students who will be in the 7th or 8th grade in September 2007. The program focuses on design, exploration, hands on experiments, and fun!
InnoWorks is the flagship program of United InnoWorks Academy (UIA), a 501c non-profit organization. InnoWorks began in 2003 at Duke University, and has since then, spread to over 10 college campuses worldwide, including some overseas. The Boston University Chapter is one of the newest InnoWorks chapters and is proud to join the InnoWorks family.
